Project Summary
The Kearsney College Media Centre reimagines academic space as a hub for collaboration and learning, while retaining a sensitivity to campus heritage. The building’s form is articulated in red brick with tiled roofs, aligning it with the school’s architectural language and historic character. Generous windows punctuate the façades, maximizing daylight and creating strong visual connections to landscaped courtyards. Outdoor terraces and stepped seating integrate naturally with the sloping site, providing informal gathering and study spaces shaded by mature trees.
Internally, the design emphasizes openness and adaptability, supporting both traditional study and digital engagement. The material palette—brick, timber, and stone paving—balances durability with warmth, while landscaped edges soften the threshold between built form and nature. By blending robust heritage aesthetics with contemporary educational needs, the Media Centre positions itself as a place of dialogue, reflection, and innovation, reinforcing Kearsney’s ethos of holistic development and academic excellence.
